About the Position
We’re seeking a PR & Marketing Volunteer to assist us in promoting our events and programs to the public and press as we increase our program reach and impact for 2014. In this volunteer role you’ll be able to choose the projects you’d like to work on and the time you can commit, as well a spend your time volunteering mainly from the comfort of your home. Some of the various duties we could use assistance on include:
§ Developing press releases, flyers, and other marketing collateral
§ Growing our social media and online presence
§ Creating and coordinating engaging fundraising and educational events
§ Updating press lists and building stronger relationships with the media
§ Designing and writing e-mail newsletters to various stakeholders and interest groups
§ Developing brand extensions
§ Helping with booth presentation and tabling materials
Requirements:
§ Excellent writing abilities and computer skills
§ Ability to follow through on commitments
§ Available a few hours per week to work on projects
§ Experience in public relations, graphic design, marketing or event planning is a HUGE plus
