Malama Kaua'i: Action Alert
Delivered on April 4, 2008

  • KKCR Radio Show
  • Kilauea Town Action Plan Picnic and Community Projects Presentation
  • Apollo Kaua'i April Meeting

Malama Kaua'i Radio Show Today, Friday, April 4th, Noon - 1:00 PM
Join hosts Chris Jaeb and Keone Kealoha as we take a different look at sustainability today; inner sustainability. Traditionally, we think about sustainability as how we, as the human race, are attempting to balance our need to live, with the resources of our environment. This is an outer form of sustainability. But there is the inner sustainability, the one that keeps balance for us internally, morally, spiritually. We are joined in studio today with intuitive Alison Neville as we explore inner sustainability and how having inner balance makes outer balance so much more easy to achieve. KKCR can be found at 91.9 FM or online at www.KKCR.org.

Kilauea Town Action Plan Picnic and Community Project Presentation
This Sunday, April 6, 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Malama Kaua'i will be presenting an action plan for each of the 50 or so projects that the Kilauea Community identified during several public meetings back in January. This is our attempt to focus on a single Kaua'i Township and see how we can assist that community to reach it's goals while using the framework of sustainability in possible solutions. Some projects include community gardens, after school programs, a community barter board and skate park to name a few.

The event will be held outside in the Dispensary Park (the grass park in front of the Stone Buildings/Healthy Hut in the heart of Kilauea Town) and will include live entertainment with local musician Mike Young so bring a blanket, some food and your family for a nice afternoon of community building and music!

This Month Apollo Kaua'i Asks: WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO GET US OUT OF OUR CARS?
